It's been over 40 years since our dear and beloved mother left us, and 90 years since her birth. ז״ל
Our mother was born in the city of Kokand into the family of the teacher (melamed) Khia. Simultaneously, Khia carried out righteous deeds; he was a shochet, performed kiddush, and arranged ktubas. Alongside his spouse Esther, they raised and nurtured 9 children, with our mother being the 7th child in the Shamuilov family. After completing school, Ksio enrolled and graduated from a pedagogical school in Kokand. However, her career as a teacher was short-lived. Her older brothers, Mordukhai and Ruben, taught her their trade, the hairdresser's craft, and she became a master of her craft.
Working in a salon, she met her client Yuri Arieivich Fatakhov. They got married in 1947. After marriage, our mother started working alongside our father in his shop – she was his adornment in every aspect. Together, they built a united, beautiful family, living in love and harmony for 29 years, raising six children – one son and five daughters. Our parents were honored on the honor board at School No.1 in Kokand as the best parents in terms of academic achievements and child-rearing. Mom was awarded the "Mother Heroine" medal for being a mother of many children. She was esteemed and respected among the people of our city, valued as a noble, wise, and kind person, always ready to help others.
Our mother was an exceptional personality. Throughout her short life, she carried the name of a Jewish woman with honor and dignity. Our home was always open to guests. She knew how to welcome and elegantly set the tables. She embraced every guest warmly. Her sense of empathy, compassion, and sympathy for fellow humans, relatives, neighbors, and strangers was developed and inherent in her in any situation. Love, zest for life, and respect for people were always mutual and sincere; she carried these traits throughout her life. She had a beautiful soul, engaged in good deeds, a faithful, caring wife, and a wonderful mother. We are proud that she is our mother.
A deep bow and the most sincere words of gratitude. We are excessively grateful to our unique parents, whom we always remember, love, and strive to emulate. In our memory, they will remain individuals of high culture, responsive, considerate, hardworking, and modest. Our parents' names will forever live on in many generations: children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
